Pianist Blake, also known as Eubie Blake, was an American composer, lyricist, and pianist of ragtime, jazz, and popular music. He was one of the most important composers of the early 20th century and is considered a pioneer in African-American music. He wrote hundreds of songs during his career, including 'Memories of You' and 'I'm Just Wild About Harry'. He was also a prolific performer, playing in clubs and on Broadway. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1972.
