Physician William Osler was a Canadian physician and one of the four founding professors of Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was a leader in medical education and is often referred to as the 'Father of Modern Medicine'. Osler was also a prolific author, publishing over 400 articles and books on medical topics. He was a pioneer in the field of medical research and was the first to describe many diseases, including appendicitis and pericarditis.
