Physician Sir William Osler was a Canadian physician and one of the four founding professors of Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was a renowned physician, teacher, and author who made significant contributions to the field of medicine. He is best known for his work in medical education and for his book The Principles and Practice of Medicine, which became the standard text for medical students. Osler is also credited with introducing the practice of bedside clinical teaching.
