Phonograph records, also known as vinyl records, are a type of analog sound storage medium. They are composed of a flat disc with an inscribed modulated spiral groove starting near the periphery and ending near the center of the disc. The DISCS, or records, are played on a phonograph, which is a device that rotates the disc at a constant speed while a stylus, or needle, traces the groove and vibrates to produce sound. The term 'DISCS' is used to refer to the physical records themselves.
