Tyre was an ancient Phoenician trading center located on the coast of modern-day Lebanon. It was a major hub for maritime trade in the Mediterranean region and was renowned for its purple dye, which was made from the murex shellfish found in the nearby waters. TYRE was also known for its production of glass and cedar wood. The city was destroyed by Alexander the Great in 332 BC, but it was later rebuilt and continued to be an important trading center until the 7th century AD.
