Petty Officers are a rank of non-commissioned officers in the Navy. They are responsible for leading and managing sailors and providing support to commissioned officers. The four most common Petty Officer ranks are Bosns (5 letters), Yeomen (6 letters), MATES (5 letters), and Boatswains (10 letters). Bosns are responsible for the maintenance and operation of ships, Yeomen are responsible for administrative duties, MATES are responsible for navigation and seamanship, and Boatswains are responsible for the supervision of deck personnel.
