Personality Components is a term used to describe the various aspects of an individual's personality. Ego is one of these components and is defined as the part of the personality that is conscious, most immediately controls thought and behavior, and is most in touch with external reality. It is the sense of self and the executive function of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious.
