Persian rulers have been in power since the 6th century BC. Partas was a title given to a ruler of a province in the Achaemenid Empire, which was the first Persian Empire. SHAH was the title given to the monarchs of the Achaemenid, Sasanian, and Safavid Empires. DEY was a title given to a ruler of a province in the Ottoman Empire. SATRAP was a title given to a ruler of a province in the Achaemenid Empire. All of these titles were used by Persian rulers throughout history.
