Perennial flowers are plants that bloom year after year. Two examples of perennial flowers are phlox and IRIS. Phlox is a genus of 67 species of flowering plants in the family Polemoniaceae, native to North America and eastern Asia. It is a low-growing, spreading plant with clusters of star-shaped flowers in shades of pink, purple, white, and red. IRIS is a genus of 260–300 species of flowering plants with showy flowers. It takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, referring to the wide variety of flower colors found among the many species.
