Elie Ducommun was a Swiss pacifist and the first Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. He was a co-founder of the International Peace Bureau, which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1910. Ducommun was a prominent figure in the peace movement and was instrumental in the establishment of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. He was also a member of the International Arbitration League and the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
