A patriot is someone who is devoted to their country and its interests. A CHAUVINIST is an extreme patriot, often to the point of being overly aggressive and jingoistic. A JINGOIST is someone who is excessively nationalistic and belligerent in their patriotism. A NATIONALIST is someone who is devoted to the interests of their nation and its people. Lastly, a LOYALIST is someone who is devoted to their country and its government. All of these terms refer to someone who is devoted to their country and its interests, but each term has a slightly different connotation.
