The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is a part of the United States Department of Homeland Security. It is responsible for providing support to state and local governments in responding to and recovering from disasters. FEMA also works to reduce the risk of future disasters by providing grants, technical assistance, and other resources to help communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
