The ROYAL CANADIAN Mounted POLICE (RCMP) is a national POLICE force in Canada. It is made up of three parts: the CANADIAN component, the ROYAL component, and the POLICE component. The CANADIAN component is composed of members of the CANADIAN Forces who are responsible for providing security and law enforcement services to Canadians. The ROYAL component is composed of members of the British ROYAL Family who are responsible for providing ceremonial duties and other support services. The POLICE component is composed of members of the RCMP who are responsible for providing law enforcement services to Canadians. The Mounted component is composed of members of the RCMP who are responsible for providing specialized services such as search and rescue, crowd control, and border security.
