The palindromic tennis star is Monica Seles. She was born in 1973 in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia and began playing tennis at the age of six. She won her first professional tournament at the age of 15 and went on to become one of the most successful female tennis players of all time. She won nine Grand Slam singles titles and was ranked World No. 1 in 1991 and 1992. She was known for her powerful two-handed groundstrokes and her signature 'Seles grunt'. She retired from professional tennis in 2008.
