The Palestinian Uprising, also known as the Intifada, was a series of uprisings that began in 1987 and lasted until 1993. It was a popular revolt against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The Intifada was marked by civil disobedience, strikes, demonstrations, and acts of violence. It was a major factor in the peace process that eventually led to the Oslo Accords in 1993.
