Mahmoud Abbas, also known as Abu Mazen, is a Palestinian leader who has served as the President of the Palestinian National Authority since 2005. He is also the Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Fatah political party. Abbas has been involved in the Middle East peace process for decades, and has worked to bring about a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine.
