Pakistan's official language is Urdu, which is a standardized register of the Hindustani language. It is the national language of Pakistan and is one of the 22 official languages recognized by the Constitution of Pakistan. Urdu is also spoken in parts of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, the Middle East, and many other countries with a significant Pakistani diaspora. It is written in the Perso-Arabic script and is closely related to Hindi.
