Sandro Botticelli was an Italian painter from the Early Renaissance period. He is best known for his works such as 'The Birth of Venus' and 'Primavera'. His real name was Alessandro di Mariano di Vanni Filipepi, but he is commonly referred to as Sandro Botticelli. He was born in Florence in 1445 and died in 1510. He was a major figure in the development of the Early Renaissance style and his works are still admired today.
