Johann Pachelbel was a German composer and organist of the Baroque period. His most famous work is the CANON in D, a piece for strings and continuo which is often heard at weddings. It is also known as CANON and Gigue in D or CANON in D Major. Another well-known work by Pachelbel is the Fugue in G Minor, a piece for organ. Both the CANON and the Fugue are considered to be among the most important works of the Baroque period.
