REM is an American rock band formed in Athens, Georgia in 1980. The band consists of Michael Stipe (vocals, guitar), Peter Buck (guitar), Mike Mills (bass, vocals) and Bill Berry (drums, vocals). Out of Time is the seventh studio album by REM, released in 1991. It was the band's first album to reach number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, and it was certified four times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The album spawned several hit singles, including 'Losing My Religion', 'Shiny Happy People' and 'Radio Song'.
