Emma Thompson is an Oscar-winning British actress, screenwriter, and author. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the 1992 film 'Howards End' and the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for her screenplay of the 1995 film 'Sense and Sensibility'. She has also been nominated for numerous other awards, including two BAFTA Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and four Primetime Emmy Awards.
