Tom Hanks is an American actor, producer, and director who has won two Academy Awards for Best Actor. He won his first Oscar in 1993 for his role in the movie Philadelphia, and his second in 1994 for his role in Forrest Gump. He has also been nominated for several other awards, including five Golden Globe Awards and nine Primetime Emmy Awards. He is widely regarded as one of the most successful actors of all time.
