Katharine Hepburn was an iconic American actress who won four Academy Awards for Best Actress, more than any other actor or actress in history. She won her first Oscar for her role in the 1933 film Morning Glory and her last for her performance in the 1981 film On Golden Pond. Her other two Oscars were for her roles in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967) and The Lion in Winter (1968). Her nickname, CATE, is an acronym for her full name, Katharine Houghton Hepburn.
