Orion was a one-time MGM subsidiary, founded in 1978. It was a major American film production and distribution company, which released a variety of films from 1978 to 1997. It was known for producing and distributing independent films, as well as some major studio releases. ORION also had a television division, which produced and distributed television programs. The company was eventually dissolved in 1997.
