The Pinta and the Nina were two of the three ships that Christopher Columbus used on his first voyage to the New World in 1492. The Pinta was a caravel-type vessel, while the Nina was a caravel-type vessel with a round hull. Both ships were owned by Juan de la Cosa, a Spanish navigator and cartographer. The third ship was the Santa Maria, which was a larger vessel and served as the flagship of the expedition.
