Janet Evans is an Olympic swimmer who won four gold medals and one silver medal during her career. She competed in the 1988, 1992, and 1996 Olympics, and was the first woman to win three individual gold medals in a single Olympics. Evans also set world records in the 400-meter freestyle, 800-meter freestyle, and the 1500-meter freestyle. She was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 2004.
