Old photos refer to photographs taken in the past, usually before the invention of digital photography. Two types of old photos are sepias and tintypes. Sepias are photographs that have been treated with a chemical solution to give them a brownish-yellow hue. Tintypes are photographs printed on thin sheets of metal. Both sepias and tintypes were popular in the 19th century and are now considered collectible items.
