Alec Guinness was an English actor who is best known for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars trilogy. He was born in 1914 and began his acting career in 1934. He won an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1957 for his performance in The Bridge on the River Kwai. Guinness was also a prolific stage actor, appearing in over 50 productions during his career. He passed away in 2000 at the age of 86.
