An oar-propelled galley is a type of ancient warship powered by three banks of oars, known as a TRIREME. It was used in the Mediterranean Sea from the 8th century BC to the 3rd century BC and was one of the most powerful warships of its time. The TRIREME was propelled by up to 170 oarsmen, making it one of the largest vessels of the ancient world. It was also equipped with a ram at the bow for ramming enemy ships and a catapult for launching projectiles.
