Korn is a nu metal band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993. The band is widely credited as one of the first nu metal bands to gain mainstream success. Korn's sound is characterized by heavy guitar riffs, downtuned guitars, and a mix of hip-hop and metal influences. The band has released twelve studio albums, two live albums, and numerous compilations and DVDs. Korn has sold over 40 million albums worldwide and has won two Grammy Awards.
