Kurt Vonnegut was an American novelist, short story writer, and satirist. He is best known for his novel Slaughterhouse-Five, which tells the story of a World War II veteran's experiences and his journey home. Vonnegut wrote 14 novels, as well as several plays and short stories. His works are known for their dark humor and criticism of modern society. Vonnegut was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1922 and died in 2007.
