Amy Tan is an American novelist best known for her 1989 novel, The Joy Luck Club. She has written several other novels, including The Kitchen God's Wife, The Hundred Secret Senses, and The Bonesetter's Daughter. Tan is also the author of two children's books, The Moon Lady and Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat. Tan's work often focuses on the relationships between mothers and daughters, and the cultural divide between Chinese immigrants and their American-born children.
