Rex Stout was an American novelist and short story writer, best known for his detective fiction. He wrote more than 70 novels and short stories featuring the detective Nero Wolfe. Stout was born in Noblesville, Indiana in 1886 and died in 1975. He is remembered as one of the most successful mystery writers of the twentieth century. His works have been adapted into films, television series, and radio programs.
