Anne McCaffrey is a renowned novelist who has written over 80 books and short stories. She is best known for her science fiction and fantasy works, particularly the Dragonriders of Pern series. McCaffrey was the first woman to win a Hugo Award for Best Novella in 1969 and the first woman to win a Nebula Award for Best Novel in 1986. She was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2006.
