Erica Jong is an American novelist, poet, and essayist. She is best known for her 1973 novel Fear of Flying, which created a new wave of feminism and has been translated into more than 30 languages. Jong's other works include the novels Fanny: Being the True History of the Adventures of Fanny Hackabout-Jones (1980), Any Woman's Blues (1990), and Sappho's Leap (2003). She has also written several collections of poetry, including Love Comes and Going to Jerusalem (1996).
