Nadine Gordimer is a South African novelist, short story writer, political activist and recipient of the 1991 Nobel Prize in Literature. She was born in 1923 in Springs, Transvaal, and is best known for her novels which explore and expose the complex social and political landscape of South Africa during apartheid. Her works include The Conservationist, Burger's Daughter, July's People, and My Son's Story.
