Willa Cather was an American novelist who wrote during the early 20th century. She is best known for her novels about the American Midwest, such as My Antonia and O Pioneers!. Cather was born in Virginia in 1873 and moved to Nebraska at the age of nine. Her works often focus on the struggles of immigrants and settlers in the Midwest, and she was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for her novel One of Ours in 1923.
