Notre Dame coaching legend Knute Rockne was a Norwegian-American football player and coach. He is regarded as one of the greatest coaches in college football history, leading the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to five undefeated seasons and three national championships. Rockne revolutionized the game with his innovative offensive schemes and is credited with popularizing the forward pass. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a charter member in 1951.
