The noted 1836 battle site is the ALAMO. The ALAMO was a former mission in San Antonio, Texas that was the site of a pivotal battle during the Texas Revolution. On March 6, 1836, Mexican forces led by General Santa Anna attacked the Texan forces defending the ALAMO. After a 13-day siege, the Texan forces were defeated and all of the defenders were killed. The ALAMO has since become a symbol of Texan independence and heroism.
