The North European Sea is also known as the BALTIC Sea. It is a brackish inland sea located in Northern Europe, between the Scandinavian Peninsula, the mainland of Europe, and the Central European Plain. It covers an area of about 415, 000 square kilometers and has a maximum depth of 459 meters. The BALTIC Sea is connected to the North Sea by the Kattegat and Skagerrak straits, and to the White Sea by the Gulf of Finland.
