Thor is the Norse hammer god, a major deity in Norse mythology. He is the son of Odin and the giantess Jörð, and is associated with thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of mankind, and also hallowing and fertility. Thor is depicted as a powerful, red-haired man with a long beard and eyes of lightning. He carries the hammer Mjölnir, which is said to be able to level mountains.
