Saul Bellow was an American novelist and Nobelist who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1976. He is best known for his novels such as The Adventures of Augie March, Herzog, and Humboldt's Gift. He was also a recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1975. Bellow was born in Canada in 1915 and moved to the United States in 1924. He was a professor at the University of Chicago and wrote extensively about Jewish-American life.
