Toni Morrison was an American Nobel Prize-winning novelist, essayist, editor, teacher, and professor. She is best known for her novels about the African-American experience, such as Beloved, Song of Solomon, and The Bluest Eye. Her works have been translated into more than 40 languages and she has received numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1988 and the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993.
