Elie Wiesel was a night novelist, known for his works of Holocaust literature. He was born in Romania in 1928 and survived the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps during World War II. After the war, he moved to France and wrote his first novel, Night, which was published in 1958. The book is based on his experiences in the concentration camps and has become one of the most widely read books about the Holocaust. Wiesel went on to write more than 40 books, including novels, plays, and non-fiction works, and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986.
