NHL Great Gordie Howe was a legendary Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Detroit Red Wings from 1946 to 1971. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest players in NHL history and was nicknamed 'Mr. Hockey'. Howe was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972 and his jersey number 9 was retired by the Red Wings in 2017. He was also known for his physical style of play, earning him the nickname 'Gordie Howe Hat Trick' which is when a player scores a goal, an assist, and gets into a fight in the same game.
