Jim Lehrer is an American journalist and news anchor who has been a prominent figure in the media for over 50 years. He is best known for his work as a news anchor on the PBS NewsHour, which he co-anchored from 1975 to 2011. He also hosted the weekly public affairs program Washington Week in Review from 1975 to 2020. Lehrer has won numerous awards for his work in journalism, including the Peabody Award, the National Humanities Medal, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
