Lester Holt is an American news anchor who currently serves as the anchor for NBC Nightly News and Dateline NBC. He has been in the news industry since the early 1980s, when he began his career as a reporter for CBS affiliate WCBS-TV in New York City. He later moved to Los Angeles to become the weekend anchor for KNXT (now KCBS-TV). In 2000, Holt joined MSNBC as an anchor and was later named the weekday anchor of the network's flagship program, NBC Nightly News. He has won numerous awards for his work, including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Live Coverage of a Breaking News Story.
