The AVALON Peninsula is a region located on the southeastern coast of Newfoundland, Canada. It is the most populous and economically developed region in the province. The peninsula is connected to the mainland by the Isthmus of AVALON, which separates Conception Bay from Trinity Bay. The peninsula is home to many communities, including St. John's, the provincial capital. It is also home to several national parks, including Gros Morne National Park and Terra Nova National Park.
