The New York Tribe Members are two Native American tribes, the Oneidas and the Senecas. The Oneidas are a federally recognized tribe of the Iroquois Confederacy, originally located in what is now central New York State. The Senecas are also a federally recognized tribe of the Iroquois Confederacy, originally located in what is now western New York State. Both tribes have a long history of cultural and political influence in the region.
