New England is a region in the northeastern United States that consists of six states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. There are many prestigious universities located in this region, including the University of Rhode Island (URI), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and the University of New Hampshire (UNH). All three of these universities are considered to be part of the New England School system. URI, MIT, and UNH are all highly respected institutions of higher learning that offer a variety of degree programs and research opportunities.
